YOUR HEAT SUPPLY

E.ON Heating

Heating and Hot WaterE.ON Heat delivers the district heating at Clarendon. Water is heated at their on-site energy centre and then pumped to your home through their network of insulated pipes to give you hot water and heating. As your home is served by the E.ON Heat system you won’t have your own boiler, instead you’ll have a Heat Interface Unit (HIU) in your home. Your HIU is about the same size as a boiler and provides heat and hot water to your home instantly, as and when you need it.

E.ON will look after your supply
Due to the nature of the district heating, only one energy supplier can be responsible for the whole development. E.ON have entered a 25-year arrangement with St William, which means that they’re responsible for operating and maintaining the heat and hot water network for the homes at Clarendon. You won’t be able to change your heat supplier during the period that this arrangement is in place. In using the heat supply at your property, you’ll be bound to their supply terms and conditions - these will be sent to you with your Welcome Pack from E.ON. You won’t be tied in for your electricity and you’re free to switch to any supplier of your choice in that regard.

What happens next? When you complete the purchase of your new home, you can call E.ON on 0345 302 4312 and they’ll help with setting up your Direct Debit or your online account. Alternatively, you can wait for them to send your Welcome Pack out to you, which will explain how to do this online. You’ll receive your Welcome Pack shortly after you move into your new home, it explains everything you need to know about the district heating system on your development.

What’s included?
The energy service charge element of your bill from E.ON covers servicing and maintenance up to and including the HIU in your home. It also covers the maintenance of your local energy centre, which generates your heat supply. This includes any necessary repair of network pipes from the energy centre to properties on your development. It also gives you access to a 24/7 Emergency helpline and call outs.

Please note that the maintenance and servicing of your hot water cylinder, radiators, pipes, other appliances and fittings in your home that are not serviced by E.ON, are your responsibility.
